This study examined the predictive relationship between dimensions of emotional intelligence and career decision making self-efficacy and between dimensions of emotional intelligence and career commitment and exploration. The researcher also wanted to examine moderating effect of sex o n the relationship between dimensions of emotional intelligence and career decision making self-efficacy and also emotional intelligence and career commitment and exploration.

Data were colllected by using questionnaire which was distributed to the year 2003 undergraduate students of Economics Faculty of Sebelas Maret University. In total 130 questionnaires were distributed, o nly 109 were returned and 100 of them were valid for the data to be analyzed.

Using hierarchical regression analysis, a significant predictive relationship (p < 0,05 ) was found between Utilization of Emotions and Empathy dimension and career decision making self-efficacy. A significant predictive relationship (p < 0,05) was also found between Empathy dimension and career commitment and exploration. However, findings failed to reveal sex as moderator of the relationship between emotional intelligence and the career variables.
