Abstrak


Upaya Peningkatan Akses Pendidikan melalui Identifikasi Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus di Kecamatan Sidoharjo Kabupaten Sragen

This research aims to (1) know the number of identified children with disability in subdistrict of
Sidoharjo, Sragen, Central Java, (2) know the kinds of handicapping condition,  sex, age, and (4)
identify the opportunity to access to education. The research is a survey with the total population all
children with disability serving as a sample.  Questionnaire, interview,  and document are used to
collect data of this research,  and analyzed  by means of descriptive  quantitative. The results show
that from 64 children identified as children with disability,  there are 4 children (6,25%) have visual
problems, 5 children (7,81%) with hearing impairment, 32 (50%) children with mental retardation, 8
(12,5%)  children with behavioral disorder, 2 (3,13%)  children with physical handicap, 14 (31%)
children with multi-handicaps.  From this number, 30 (46,88%) are boys, 34 (53,12%) are girls. Seen
from the ages, 33 out 45 (73.33%) have already access to education. The rest 19 (17.67%) of children
do not get education. The research concludes that there are still a number of children do not go to
schools. It means there are still a number of children with many kinds of disabilities  who needs
special services in this area.
