×Parking tax is one of [the] original income source of Surakarta that is used to finance the region development. Parking tax appears in the year 2003 and up to now it is still to be the city original income contributor of Surakarta.
One of [the] parking taxpayers at Surakarta is RSUD Dr. Moewadi that has provided parking area for the visitors. RSUD Dr. Moewardi has a large parking area, that is at the southern part of the yard for the four-wheel vehicles, and at the eastern part of the yard for the two-wheel vehicles.
The potential parking tax found at RSUD Dr. Moewardi is quite big, this matter has been revealed at the result of the research done by the writer. Based on the result, it is shown that is parking tax potential that is collectable is Rp. 7.225.999,76, but the realized tax paid to the city of Surakarta is only Rp. 5.000.000,00. The difference existence is Rp. 2.225.999,76 which can make region tax entering becoming not maximal, so that this matter must get special attention from local government to optimize region original income.
Therefore it becomes the government’s main concern to optimize the parking tax in the future.
