Abstrak : Comfort Inn Hotel Solo is located on Jl. Slamet Riyadi 366, the main street of Solo city. Comfort Inn Hotel Solo provides business travelers with a taste of elegance personalized services. The hotel is closed to the main shopping centers, traditional markets, batik center and royal palace. Comfort Inn Hotel Solo offers an array of 32 deluxe and suite rooms, coffee shop, 24 hours room service, meeting room, Kencono Wungu restaurant, safe deposit box, free airport/railway station transfer, taxi service, and drug store. The main goal of this final project is to describe the important roles of Housekeeping Department, they are: cleaning and maintaining the hotel’s rooms, training its personnel recruitment, supplying/providing equipments, planning and scheduling the paperwork and reporting them to the supervisor. This final project is also intended to find out the problems faced by the Housekeeping Department, from inside the hotel (the staff did not quite understand the tools usage procedures, timework is very tight for the morning, the mono-type jobs, and many tools are out of order) and outside the hotel (bad environmental reservation and the competitions with the other hotels). Propose solution of the problems, by controlling the Housekeeping Department operational works, they are: the cost controlling, the productions controlling, the quality control. This final project belongs to descriptive method. To get the data, the writer uses some techniques of collecting data and analyzing data, the techniques of collecting data used are observation and interviews directly to the object. In addition, the writer also uses library study to obtain references of the data. In the last chapter, the writer suggests the hotel to improve the hotel services, facilities and employees skill, to increase more benefits to the hotel, to keep the reputation of the hotel and to take a strategy to compete other hotels.
