Abstrak :

Effect of impeller curvature blade o n the pattern flow and performance centrifugal pump has been studied. Four unshrouded impellers each other with inlet and outlet angle 41.40-41.40, 41.40-300, 41.40-400 and 41.40-500, investigated at constant rotation.

The experiment result that impeller with outlet angle 500, have the best performance with highest efficiency 82% and highest head 18,4 m. in the test of visualization, there is trace of horseshoe vortex around the blade. This vortex separates its self into pressure side leg of the horseshoe vortex and suction side leg of horseshoe vortex. Impeller that it having large angle will suffers suction side leg of horseshoe vortex, which at last will be vortex passage which deflection to the path of main flow and cause the main flow close to the pressure side. When flowed near pressure side, each of fluid flow into suction side across the clearance to be leakage flow. The leakage flow form kind of vortex. Pattern flow is greatly effect by curvature blade.
