This research is a qualitative descriptive research in which the main purpose is to describe and to compare genre of two advertisement texts and finally to know the similarities and the differences of the texts by describing the lexicogrammar based o n Systemic Functional Linguistics.
In this research, total sampling technique was carried out since all the data are taken to be sample. The data source in this research is the advertisement of
In collecting the data, this research proposed o ne kind of technique of collecting data that was literature technique (teknik pustaka). The data found, then were observed and analyzed by describing the lexicogrammar aspects to find out the comparison of genre used.
Based o n the lexicogrammar, text I dominantly employs minor clauses compared to the simplex and complex o nes. Meanwhile, text II is also dominated by minor clauses followed by simplex clauses without complex clause. From the MOOD system, text I employs more indicative, declarative functioning as proposition.

Meanwhile, text II employs more imperative functioning as proposal. In the terms of transitivity, text I uses more attributive relational process followed by the usage of identify relational process, mental behavior process, material and verbal process. Meanwhile, text II employs the balance usage of mental behavior, verbal behavior, and attributive relational processes.
In the cohesion system, both texts employ synonymy more than repetition. And the logical relations of both texts are mostly additions implicit and the other relations are addition explicit with conjunction (and).
The text structure and the GSP of both texts are similar. They are General description and Descriptions
The data analysis shows that the genre of the two advertisements use the same genre, Description.
