The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of 40m running through the application of locomotor skill games to fourth-grade students of SDN 1 Bumi 1 No.67 Laweyan Surakarta academic year 2018/2019.
This research is Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, consisting of four stages in each cycle, which included the planning phase, the implementation phase of the action, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. The subjects in this Classroom Action Research are the fourth- grade students of SDN Bumi 1 No.67 Laweyan Surakarta, totaling 21 students, consisting of 10 boys and 11 girls. The data source of Classroom Action Research comes  from  students,  researchers,  and  teachers  as  collaborators.  The  data collection   techniques   using   a   qualitative   descriptive   test   with   percentage techniques to see trends that occur in learning activities.
The results of the study show that through the application of locomotor skill games can improve the learning outcomes of 40m running. According to the learning syllabus for elementary school, 40m athletic running material has been taught in the class, but there are still problems faced by students in the rhythmic learning process so that the learning outcomes of rhythmic gymnastics during learning is still not optimal. The results of the analysis carried out showed that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of 40M running that were significant from pre-cycle to cycle I and from cycle I to cycle II. In the first cycle, students who were declared completed reached 71.43% or as many as 15 students. The increase in 40m athletic track learning outcomes also occurred in the second cycle with a percentage of 90.48% or 19 students who were included in the Completed category and two other students were declared not yet completed.
Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that: the application of locomotor skill games can improve 40m athletic run learning outcomes in fourth-grade students of SDN Bumi 1 No.67 Laweyan Surakarta academic year
2018/2019.
