Senggugu is one of medicine plants with its potenc y as a natural insecticides
source. The aims of this research were to: (1) knowing the potenc y of se nggugu
( Clerodendron serratum ) leaf extract as the larvicide’s to Aedes aegypti mosquito,
and the different influence of senggugu ( C. serratum ) leaf e xtract concentration in
the inhibitory of A . aegypti mosquito larvae’s deve lopment a nd mortality.
The treatment that given in this experiment consist of six variations of
senggugu leaf extract concentration (0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 400
ppm, dan 800 ppm) into treatment cup that were filled b y 100 ml of medium and
25 la rva with four replications in e ach concentration. The total of the death larva
and the failed adult mosquito were compared and a nalyzed by ANOVA test.

The result of this experiment showed that the extract of senggugu leaf has
potenc y a s lar vacide. The avera ge percentage of development inhibitory are 50
ppm = 22,76%, 100 ppm = 38%, 200 ppm = 41%, 400 ppm = 35%, and 800 ppm
= 34%. The average percentages of mortality are 50 ppm = 5%, 100 = 7%, 200
ppm = 14%, 400 ppm = 12%, and 800 ppm = 8%. The concentration of 200 ppm
is the most effective conce ntration as larvacide.
