This internship report was written based on the internship program at Pro Translasi from January 18 to March 19, 2021. The objective of this internship report was to explain the activities in translating different kinds of texts at Pro Translasi, especially the translation process of the Legal Text and subtitling YouTube Videos. For other activities, there were typing several documents; participating in materials and evaluation sessions with Pro Translasi; writing self review; creating and translating articles; operating CAT Tools; and translating various subjects, such as translating text in general, scientific journal, website, application, and game.
In translating those projects, I did some manually without any help of CAT Tools and some of them using CAT Tools. I used a software called Subtitle Edit to help me create subtitles. There were three steps of the translation process from Nida and Taber that I used to translate these projects. They were analyzing, transferring, and restructuring.
During the internship program, I found some minor problems, e.g. signal problems, power outages, unfamiliar words and encoding processes during the sub-editing. The solutions to overcome the problems were requesting for a deadline extension, and looking for the unfamiliar words on the online dictionaries.
