This research was conducted to describe (1) the symbolic meanings; (2) the teachings of character education (budi pekerti); and (3) the relevance of the research findings on the Wilujengan Wuku Kuruwelut ceremony at the Radyapustaka Museum as teaching materials for Javanese Language subjects in Senior High Schools (SMA). The method employed in this study was descriptive qualitative with a semiotic approach. The data found and generated from this research consisted of procedures, ceremonial equipment (ubarampe), and moral teachings contained within the Wilujengan Wuku Kuruwelut ceremony at the Radyapustaka Museum, Surakarta. The sources of data used to obtain information included informants comprising a philologist, a teacher, and a 10th-grade female student from SMA Negeri 1 Kartasura. In addition, observations of the ceremony—ranging from the preparation and the execution of the ritual to its conclusion—also served as relevant data sources. The data collection technique utilized purposive sampling through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Source triangulation was applied in this study as a data validity test technique. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions from the processed data. The results of the study concluded: (1) symbolic meanings consisting of denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings within the Wilujengan Wuku Kuruwelut ceremony; (2) the teachings of character education embedded in the Wilujengan Wuku Kuruwelut ceremony; (3) the benefits of the research findings, which can be integrated as teaching materials for Javanese Language learning in Senior High Schools, specifically on the material of various text types within the socio-cultural context for Phase E, Grade X of the Merdeka Curriculum.
