Undergraduate Thesis: Surakarta, English Department, Faculty of Cultural Science, Universitas Sebelas Maret.This creative thesis aimed to create a horror-tragedy novella that demonstrates the combined potential of both genres through a balanced narrative of fear and emotional suffering. This work used a creative writing methodology supported by theories regarding horror, tragedy, thanatology, liminality, and pseudo-anthology structure to lead the development of the story and its thematic elements. The work itself is in the form of a pseudo-anthology novella with an approximate count of 23,000 words. The story follows six characters who gather around to share horror stories of their own. As the story gets told, the moment of realization comes closer and closer. Through psychological and supernatural horror mixed with themes of grief, loss, and denial, the story hoped to show the struggle of letting go while presenting horror and tragedy as complementary genres to each other.
