Rahmat Nur Hidayat, 2026. Translating Scientific Terminology in The Text of Sangiran Museum. English Diploma Program. Vocational School. Universitas Sebelas Maret. This internship report is written to fulfill one of the requirements for graduation to obtain Ahli Madya degree in the English Diploma Program. The report aims to describe my activities during the internship. I conducted the internship program at Sangiran Museum, located in Sragen, Central Java. My Internship was lasted for two months, starting from January 13 to March 6, 2026. During the internship period, my internship supervisor was assigned me several translation projects, including translating two educational modules of Sangiran, the collection catalogue of Sangiran Krikilan Museum, and creating bilingual booklets for five clusters of Sangiran Museum. The translation process presented several challenges, especially in dealing with archaeological and geological terms. However, I have applied the translation theory proposed by Nida and Taber (1969) to address these difficulties. The translation theory included analyzing the source text, transferring, and restructuring. To support the translation process, I utilized various supporting tools and reference sources, such as a laptop as my main device, digital platforms like Google and Microsoft Word, and several sources, including the Indonesian Comprehensive Dictionary (Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia, KBBI), Cambridge Dictionary, and ProZ.com. In addition to translation duties, I also received several additional activities that broader professional experience within the museum environment. These activities included creating promotional content for Sangiran Museum’s social media, serving as a documentation officer for museum visits by Al-Khoir Elementary School, and taking the meeting minutes of the Risk Mitigation Workshop held at Sangiran Krikilan Cluster Museum. Those activities developed my skills in communication and professional collaboration.
