Chasing After Seven Colors is a philosophical fiction novella that follows the story of the character Harvey Spinster in his journey to create seven paints that can color the rainbow. The novella explores how Harvey tries to fulfill his dream and struggles to find the meaning of his life. In the end, Harvey’s dream is unfulfilled because he gives up. The objective of this novella is to explore how the search for meaning, personal fulfillment, and social acceptance may lead individuals toward self-discovery or self-destruction. The novella focuses on the struggles of searching for the meaning of one’s existence, such as how depression can hinder one’s understanding of existentialism. Based on the results, this novella shows the importance of focusing on your own life.
