Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is a tropical fruit rich in bioactive compounds, but scientific information on local pomegranates in Indonesia remains limited. Variations in aril color may reflect differences in phytochemical content, specifically regarding pigment and polyphenol compounds. This research aimed to determine the total phenolic, flavonoid, tannin, and anthocyanin contents in the arils of white, pink, and black pomegranates from Ngargoyoso District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, from March to May 2026. Extraction was performed mechanically, followed by centrifugation at 3,000 rpm for 3 minutes to obtain a clear extract. Analytical methods included the Folin-Ciocalteu assay for total phenolics, the AlCl3 assay for total flavonoids, the Folin-Denis assay for total tannins, and the pH differential method for total anthocyanins. The results showed that the black pomegranate contained the highest levels of total phenolics (1,545.84 mg GAE.L-1), total tannins (2,591.77 mg TAE.L-1), and total anthocyanins (53.27 mg C3G.L-1). Meanwhile, the highest total flavonoid content was recorded in the white pomegranate (108.92 mg QE.L-1). This inverse trend in flavonoid levels was presumably due to metabolic competition at the branch point of the flavonoid biosynthesis pathway. These findings provide a scientific foundation for the development of superior local pomegranate varieties and the optimization of Indonesia's natural resources
