This study aimed to
determine the effects of magnet type, water discharge variation, and their
interaction on the voltage, current, and output power of a Pelton turbine
generator. The research employed an Experimental
Laboratory Research method with a 2 × 3 factorial design. The independent variables consisted of
magnet type (Neodymium N52 and Ferrite) and water discharge
variations (220, 230, and 240 L/min).
Each treatment combination was repeated 12
times, resulting in 72
observation data. Voltage and current data were measured using a digital
multimeter, while the generator output power was calculated using the equation P = V × I. The collected data were
analyzed descriptively and further examined using the Scheirer-Ray-Hare test. The results showed that both magnet type
and water discharge had a significant effect on the voltage, current, and
generator output power, whereas the interaction between magnet type and water
discharge was not significant. The Neodymium
N52 magnet consistently produced higher voltage, current, and output
power than the Ferrite magnet
under all water discharge variations. The highest average output power was 5.81 W, obtained using the Neodymium
N52 magnet at a water discharge of 240
L/min, while the lowest average output power was 2.08 W, obtained using the Ferrite magnet at 220 L/min. Therefore, the combination
of the Neodymium N52 magnet and a water discharge of 240 L/min provided the best generator performance
