This creative project aims to explore how the technique of Defamiliarization(Ostranenie) is employed in the work Everything About Home to disturb habitualways of seeing objects and spaces, allowing the essence of home to reappear withrenewed presence and meaning. Furthermore, it examines how the encounterbetween photography and poetry creates a new visual-verbal language throughphotopoetry and personal vulnerability, enabling memory to resist impermanenceand remain present within the work. The creative project utilizes an autoethnographic method, I positioned myself as the primary subject experiencing thephenomenon firsthand. Lived history, experiences, memories, and emotions serveas the core data sources. The creative process followed an aesthetic and emotionalapproach, where photographs were curated and minimally edited to maintain visualhonesty, then intertwined with poetry structured by emotional cadence to create aharmonious whole. The findings of this creative project demonstrate that theapplication of Ostranenie successfully shifts ordinary objects from their mundanefunctions into profound vessels of memory. The convergence of photography andpoetry proves capable of filling expressive gaps that a single medium cannot reach,where the photograph provides evidence of existence, poetry provides the soul ofthe experience. This work ultimately constructs a "new home" in the form of anartistic monument that preserves personal memory against the erosion of time,proving that emotional honesty and vulnerability are vital strengths in creatinguniversally resonant creative work.
