This report is written as the outcome of the Student Internship Program (Kuliah Magang Mahasiswa/KMM) I undertook at Sangiran Museum, Sragen, Central Java. The internship was conducted over a two-month period, from January 13 to March 6, 2026, with a primary focus on translating the challenging terms in collection catalog Kekayaan Sangiran from Indonesian into English. The objective of the internship was to apply the translation knowledge acquired during the English Diploma Program in a professional environment while improving practical skills in translating scientific and museum-related texts. During the internship, I translated a collection catalog containing archaeological and geological terms. The translation process employed the three-stage translation model proposed by Nida and Taber (1982), consisting of analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. The analysis stage focused on identifying difficult terminology through terminology research, while the transfer stage emphasized accurately conveying the meaning of the source text into the target language. The restructuring stage refined grammatical structures, lexical choices, and sentence organization to produce a natural and readable English translation. To ensure the accuracy and consistency of specialized terminology, I consulted various references, including dictionaries, academic publications, and parallel texts. Besides participating in the main translation project, I also participated in several supporting activities, including serving as a content talent for the museum's promotional video and assisting as a note-taker and interpreter during the Risk Management Collection Workshop. The internship enhanced my translation competence, terminology research skills, professional communication, teamwork, and critical thinking while providing valuable experience in a professional museum environment. This report concludes with recommendations for future internship students, Sangiran Museum, and the English Diploma Program to improve future internship implementation.
