2026. The Effect of Artificial Intelligence-Based
Adaptive Learning on Mathematics Learning Motivation and Achievement in
Trigonometry Material for Class X of SMK Bhakti Mulia Pare. Thesis. Advisor : Dr. Imam Sujadi, M.Si.

of Mathematics Education Post-graduate Program of Sebelas Maret University
Surakarta.ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine: (1)
the simultaneous effect of implementing AI-based adaptive learning on students'
learning motivation and mathematics achievement, (2) the effect of implementing
AI-based adaptive learning on students' mathematics learning motivation, and
(3) the effect of implementing AI-based adaptive learning on students'
mathematics achievement. This study employed a quasi-experimental research
design. The study population consisted of all Grade X students at SMK Bhakti
Mulia Pare, Kediri Regency, during the 2025/2026 academic year. Sampling was
conducted using the cluster random sampling technique. The sample comprised 75
students, divided into an experimental group (39 students) and a control group
(36 students). Prior to the intervention, the population groups were required
to be balanced; a balance test was conducted using MANOVA analysis. Data
collection instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire and a
mathematics achievement test. Testing of the achievement test instrument
covered content validity, difficulty level, discrimination power, and
reliability, while testing of the learning motivation questionnaire covered
content validity, internal consistency, and reliability. Prerequisite tests
included a population normality test using the Shapiro-Wilk test and a
population variance homogeneity test using Levene's test. Data analysis was
performed using MANOVA. Hypothesis testing using MANOVA at a 5%
significance level led to the conclusion that (1) there is a simultaneous
effect of implementing AI-based adaptive learning on mathematics learning
motivation and achievement, (2) there is an effect of implementing AI-based
adaptive learning on mathematics learning motivation, and (3) there is an
effect of implementing AI-based adaptive learning on mathematics achievement.
