“Is College worth the cost?” Having a college degree has long been viewed as one of the most promising ways to climb the economic ladder and for good reason. Education can be a way to obtain benefits for the future, but what if education costs are more expensive and pressing? The wage premium associated with a college degree rose dramatically during the past generation and increased returns on education directly translate into upward absolute mobility gains. This tries to depict and analyze the student loan problem and its relation between the American dream and cultural capital theory by Bourdieu from the movie Andrew Rossi, which has highlighted the student loan problem and financial dilemma in higher education in his documentary, Ivory Tower.
