ABSTRAK This final project report was written based on the job training which had done in Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan (DISBUDPAR) Surakarta within a month, started from February 16, 2009 and ended on March 13, 2009. This final project report discusses the efforts of and the problems faced by DISBUDPAR Surakarta in attracting tourists to visit Solo city. The result shows that the efforts of DISBUDPAR Surakarta in attracting tourists to visit Solo city are opening Tourist Information Centre (TIC), holding festival, holding event, and making cooperation with mass media. The problems faced by DISBUDPAR Surakarta in attracting tourists to visit Solo city are budget and human resources. The limited budget is solved by being selective in participating in international exhibitions. While, the problem about human resources still has not been overcome because there is no policy from Badan Kepegawaian Daerah (BKD) Surakarta to hold technical training program for staffs of DISBUDPAR Surakarta. Therefore, the writer gives suggestions to DISBUDPAR Surakarta, staffs of DISBUDPAR Surakarta, Badan Kepegawaian Daerah (BKD) Surakarta, and Surakarta Government.
