This study explored the experiences of Indonesian EFL students in learning Public Speaking using PjBL. The objectives of this study are: (1) What are Indonesian EFL students’ perceptions of learning public speaking through PjBL? (2) What speaking skill indicators based on Brown (2004) improved after Indonesian EFL students took public speaking lesson using PjBL? This study was carried out at a public university in Surakarta. The participants were three Indonesian undergraduate EFL students who joined a public speaking class. This research employed biographical narrative inquiry method and gathered the data through semi-structured interviews and narrative frame. The students completed their final project step by step according to a series of learning activities prepared by the lecturer. The result showed that the use of PjBL provided an interesting experience where students can explore their creativity, critical thinking skills and also increase their confidence in giving speeches. In addition, the results also showed an improvement on students' speaking ability. However, the students also experienced some difficulties such as the long period time provided was too long. So that students lack motivation and procrastinate in completing the project. However, since this research focused on online learning, future studies could explore a different context for the learning process, offline learning. Future researcher may also examine the application of PjBL in any other English skill such as reading, listening or writing skill
