Code Mixing Performed in Master Chef Indonesia Season 9

This study aims to analyze the types of code mixing and the factors that influence code mixing by the judges of MasterChef Indonesia Season 9. This research is descriptive qualitative research as the data collected in the form of utterances. This research applied a descriptive qualitative research as the data collected in the form of utterances.

The result of this study shows that there are three types of code mixing found in the data. The first one is insertion (62 data), alternation (80 data), and congruent lexicalization (8 data). Meanwhile there are seven code mixing found in the data. The code mixing factors from the most frequent found in the data are Quotation 2 data, interjection with 4 data, The addressee specification with 50 data, repetition with 9 data, message qualification with, 44 data Personalization and objectifizations with 36 data, the last is Facility of Expression with 5 data. The findings of this study can also be used as a guide for future investigations into conversations including code mixing. Since this study examines the different code mixing types and factors, it would be preferable to utilize a different approach. This approach might come from discourse analysis, direct interviewing, or conversational analysis with the aid of ethnography. The following researcher is advised to learn more about code mixing and look through numerous references that deal with code mixing theories.
