KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIOR AND STRATEGIES FOR MANAGEMENT OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE AT PONDOK PESANTRN TAHFIDZ WA TA'LIMIL QUR'AN (PPTQ) MOSQUE AGUNG SURAKARTA

Household waste management applied by the community Pondok Pesantren Tahfidz Wa Ta’limil Qur’an (PPTQ) Masjid Agung Surakarta area still pays little attention to environmental aspects so that it has a negative impact both directly and indirectly. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of general knowledge possessed by the students in PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta area regarding household waste, to determine the level of knowledge possessed by the students in PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta area regarding the types and impacts of household waste, to determine behavior by the students in PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta area regarding household waste management, to find out household waste management strategies that can be applied by PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta. The method used in this research are descriptive quantitative and qualitative with a population and sample of 90 students of PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Data was collected using questionnaires, observation, interview, and documentation. Data was analyzed using Skala Likert Analysis calculated wits SPSS application version 26 and Microsoft Excel 2010, and SWOT analysis. The results of the research show that the level of general knowledge possessed by the students in PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta of 82,67% is included in the good category. The level of specific knowledge of PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta students regarding the type of waste and the amount of waste and specific knowledge about the impact of waste is categorized as good with a value of 73.56% and 80.71% respectively, students' behavior towards household waste management strategies at PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta is in the good category with a value of 66.93%. Meanwhile, household waste management strategies that can be applied to the PPTQ Masjid Agung Surakarta are creating a waste bank, improving facilities and infrastructure, conducting socialization of household waste management, conducting waste management using the On Site Handling method, and compiling household waste management SOPs.
