Purslane is a plant that can be consumed as an herbal medicine or an ornamental plant that needs to be conserved so that food security is realized. One effort that can be developed is to apply indoor cultivation techniques called microgreens. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of long exposure time of LED light on the growth of purslane microgreens on various growing media. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta from March - July 2023. This method used was a nested design, which consisted of 2 factors, namely use planting media (flannel, rockwool, cocopeat ) nested in 4 levels of LED light irradiation duration (8, 12, 16, 24 hours), resulting in 12 treatments with 3 replications. The research analysis used the Nested Design test of variance, if there was a significant effect a 5% Duncan’s Multiple Range Test continued test. The results showed that the long exposure only affected the height of the purslane plant. The highest purslane plant occurred at 12 hours of light exposure at 1.13 cm, while the lowest plant height occurred at 24 hours of light at 0.68 cm. The best purslane growth occurred in the cocopeat media treatment with an average plant height of 1.3 cm, an average cotyledon length of 0.4 cm, an average cotyledon width of 0.17 cm, and an average fresh weight of 5.4 mg. The lowest media treatment was shown in flannel media for all observation variables.
