Pengaruh Altruisme dan Religiusitas Terhadap Motivasi Menjadi Guru Ekonomi Dimoderasi Oleh Gender dan Budaya (The Effect of Altruism and Religiosity on Motivation to Become an Economics Teacher Moderated by Gender and Culture)

This aims to help find the right procedures to increase education students' commitment to teaching, especially for economics education students. This research aims to: 1) show the influence of altruism on motivation to become an economics teacher; 2) show the influence of religiosity on motivation to become an economics teacher; 3) shows that gender can moderate the influence of altruism on motivation to become an economics teacher; 4) shows that gender can moderate the influence of religiosity on motivation to become an economics teacher; 5) shows that secular culture can moderate the influence of altruism on motivation to become an economics teacher; 6) shows that secular culture can moderate the influence of religiosity on motivation to become an economics teacher. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the theory of selfdetermination motivation (Self-determination theory) by Ryan & Deci (2000), especially on motivation to become teachers. This research uses a quantitative survey method by distributing questionnaires online to 230 economic education students at Sebelas Maret University and Malang State University. Data processing was carried out using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The research results show that: 1) altruism has a positive and significant effect on motivation to become an economics teacher; 2) religiosity has a positive and significant effect on motivation to become an economics teacher. 3) gender can moderate and strengthen the relationship between altrusim and motivation to become a teacher; 4) gender can moderate and strengthen the relationship between religiosity and motivation to become a teacher; 5) secular culture can moderate and strengthen the relationship between altruism and motivation to become a teacher; 6) secular culture cannot moderate and strengthen the relationship between religiosity and motivation to become a teacher.
