This creative work is a novel that addresses the issues of bullying, loneliness, identity exploration, and dysfunctional family dynamics during adolescence. This work uses the theory of biographical criticismas a foundation because I was inspired by my own story in writing this work. The thesis employs a non-linear narrative structure, incorporating flashbacks to explain the main character’s past. This work serves as both my reflection and understanding of my feelings and experiences as a bullied teenager dealing with loss and loneliness. The objective of this novel is to provide readers with insight and entertainment, highlighting the impact of bullying and loneliness on adolescents and how they eventually open up after life-changing experiences. Set in the imaginative town of Londarre Midtown, Louisiana, the story centers on 17-year-old Glissenda Koskova, who has faced bullying and loneliness since elementary school. Additionally, she struggles with financial difficulties, leading her older sister, Liz, to manage a restaurant—their only source of income. Glissenda, unwilling to burden her hardworking sister, conceals her suffering from school life. In the story, one day, three students from her school reach out to befriend her and Glissenda’s approval to befriend them brings revelation and enlightenment to her perspective, highlighting the importance of human connections and unraveling the dark secrets of her family's past. The themes of bullying and loneliness vividly portrayed through the character of Glissenda Koskova are inspired by my own experiences. Drawing from personal experiences and observations of those around me, I explore themes of bullying, loneliness, dysfunctional family life, and identity exploration.
