This final report is written following the Student Internship Program (KMM) I conducted at Museum Radyapustaka. The internship lasted two months, from 12 February to 5 April 2024. During my two-month internship, I did many activities. My main activities were making bilingual leaflets for Canthik Rajamala and Wayang collections, and becoming a tour guide for museum visitors. I created the bilingual leaflets by collecting detailed information from the research, writing it into points or idea, developing it into text and translating it into the target language, and also designing and laying out the leaflets in the last step. In addition, I created a semi-magazine bilingual booklet with my internship partner. I practiced museum management by working as a registration staff for the weekly shift and Centhini events, and I participated in cultural classes. I applied Nida and Taber's (1982) translation process of analysis, transferring and restructuring during the translation process. I combined it with Molina and Albir's (2002) translation techniques such as amplification, reduction, borrowing and description to translate the text. I encountered many challenges in translating texts for the content of bilingual leaflets and booklet, especially in cultural terms. I solved these challenges by researching, reading related books, and interviewing philologists and museum curators. This internship improved my translation skills, public speaking skills, and knowledge of Javanese culture and traditions.
