This internship report is written based on the Student Internship Activity (KMM) program carried out at Pruf Ritz Communication Hub from January 22 to April 19, 2024. This internship report aims to explain my online internship activities for three months at Pruf Ritz Communication Hub. Here, I had the opportunity to translate the Annual Report project of PT MIND ID of 2023 from Indonesian to English. I translated some parts of this annual report including, the company's identity, brief history of the company, vision, mission, and mandate, as well as the company's goals and values, description of company logo, business activities, and services. I explain the process of completing this project into three steps, including preparation, translation, and evaluation. In the preparation step, I explained the things I prepared before starting to translate the project. In the translation step, I describe the process of translating the project. In the evaluation step, I explained the technical and non-technical problems I faced during the translation process, along with a description of the feedback from the supervisor. In the process of translating this annual report project, I applied the translation stages by Nida & Taber (1982), including analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. The analysis stage describes the process of understanding the meaning of the source text. The transferring stage describes the process of transferring meaning from the source text into the target language. The restructuring stage describes the process of restructuring the text in the target language to fit the desired context and style. During the translation process, I faced seven difficulties, including, 1) translating difficult terms in a general context; 2) translating difficult terms in legal context; 3) translating difficult terms in a finance and business context; 4) translating difficult terms in a mining context; 5) translating slogan; 6) translating verb; 7) translating long sentences. To solve these problems, I researched on the internet and dictionaries to understand the context of the source text. Then, I translated the source text using appropriate terms from my research. After that, the restructuring process was continued by re-reading it and discussing it with the supervisor to check its accuracy, acceptability, and readability. After completing this internship, I gained a lot of new experiences in the translation field. This internship has taught me valuable knowledge about the professional translation industry and its workflows.
