This report was written based on my online internship ( Kuliah Magang Mahasiswa ) at KONEKIN located in Jakarta from January 15, to, March 15, 2024. The purposes of this internship activities are applying translation compentencies, improving soft and hard skills, and gaining new experiences on working professionally in real working world, applying my knowledge in translation and working with people with disabilities online. The objectives of this report is to explain the process of translating a recruitment document and caption for KONEKIN’s LinkedIn post by applying three translation process: analyzing, transferring, and restructuring. This report also discusses the problems and solutions during internship activities. The analyzing step was to identify and understand unfamiliar words and ambiguous phrase, such as inklusif and kanal sosial media. The next step was to transfer the analyzed material to the target language with an equivalent message. I used three strategies in transferring process, namely literal translation, borrowing and transposition. The last step was restructuring. I restructured the transferred material by changing the diction, changing language style and doing omission. The additional activities during this internship were attending online meetings with clients, making power points materials and proofreading KONEKIN company profile. I faced three problems during this internship related to: 1) new disability-related term, 2) word if translated literally could have the potential to create a negative impression, and 3) unsupported laptop to open online dictionary and machine translation. The solution for the first problem was I searched its definition on Google search engine. The solution for the second problem was finding the correct word to refer people with disabilities. The solution for the last problem was I borrowed my friend’s laptop.
