Faculty of Mathematic and Science. Sebelas Maret University The aim of this research is to know the effect of Polystyrene concentration on the number of waveguide mode. The waveguides were fabricated by spin coating method and characterized by prism coupling method. Polystyrene used were 5%, 7%, 9%, 11%, 13%, 15% and 17%. The spinning time was 1.5 minute and the spinning velocity was 3000 rpm. It was observed that the number of waveguide mode increased with the increase of Polystyrene concentration.
