MIKROENKAPSULASI DARI KITOSAN TERMODIFIKASI SAMBUNG SILANG DAN UJI ADSORPSIVITAS ZAT WARNA REMAZOL YELLOW FG 6

Synthesis of adsorbent by crosslink and microencapsulation modification produce modified chitosan CTS, PEI-EPI-EGDE-CTS, and microcapsules PSF- PEI-EPI-EGDE-CTS has been done. The product is used to adsorb Remazol Yellow FG 6 dye. Chitosan modification had done by making CTS, then crosslinking and microencapsulation. Made of CTS had done by dropped the chitosan solution into NaOH solution (gelation medium). Crosslinked had done between CTS with the crosslinker agents, such as : EGDE (Ethylene Glycol Diglysidyl Ether), EPI( Epichlorohidrine), dan PEI (Polyethyleneimine). Coating the modified chitosan with polysulphone by emulsion phase inversion method prepared to produced the higher stability adsorbent. The forming of crosslink bond and polysulphone microcapsules could be analized by FTIR Spectroscopy. Adsorptivity test had done by compare the ability of CTS, PEI-EPI-EGDE-CTS and PSF-PEI-EPI- EGDE-CTS in the adsorption of Remazol Yellow FG 6 dye at pH 11, consentration 15 ppm, and with variation of contact times. Modified chitosan with crosslinking (PEI-EPI-EGDE-CTS) could adsorb the Remazol Yellow FG 6 dye 3,99 time better than unmodified chitosan (CTS). While microcapsules containing modified chitosan (PSF-PEI-EPI-EGDE-CTS) could adsorb the Remazol Yellow FG 6 dye 4,00 time better than unmodified chitosan(CTS). Analized of Remazol Yellow FG 6 dye adsorptivity had done use UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Though the ability almost same with crosslinked chitosan, microcapsules containing modified chitosan have shorter contact time and more stability than crosslinked chitosan. It shown that modification chitosan with crosslink and microencapsulation can improve it’s adsorptivity and stability. Key words : chitosan; crosslink; microencapsulation; adsorption
