Background
Back: One of the genetic factors
which is important in the risk of transforming endometriosis malignancies into cancer
ovaries, also known as endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer (EAOC)
is a mutation in the BRAF gene. This study aims to find out the relationship
BRAF gene expression in endometriosis against malignant transformation
Endometriosis becomes ovarian cancer or EAOC.
Method: Research
It uses a retrospective case control approach. A total of 60
research subjects who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria are carried out
immunohistochemical examination (CPI) to see BRAF gene expression and
histopathological examination to see the microscopic picture of cells and
degree and nature of its malignancy, which is classified as endometriosis
typical, atypical endometriosis and endometrioid and clear ovarian cancer
cell. The data from the CPI examination and histopathology were analyzed using
Univariate and bivariate statistical analysis to see the relationship between variables
using SPSS 29.0 software.
Results: Yes Positive and significant correlation (r = 0.821, p<0 xss=removed istranslated="1">
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship with a positive correlation between
BRAF gene expression in typical endometriosis and atypical endometriosis against
transformation of endometriosis malignancy into ovarian cancer or EAOC.
