ABSTRACT Breast cancer was the most common cancer in Indonesian woman after cervix cancer. Many breast cancer treatment like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy had not effectiveness result. That is caused many alternative treatment such as herbal medicine. Yellow fruit Pandanus conoideus Lam. was one of plants that has empirical study became anticancer agent because the lack of carotene, beta carotene and
-tocopherol. The aims of this study were to know cytotoxicity and antiproliferative effect of yellow fruits P. conoideus Lam. on in vitro breast cancer cell line T47D. Direct counting method used in cytotoxicity test using haemocytometer and tryphan blue staining. RPMI 1640 used as medium to culture cell, and treatmented with yellow fruits P. conoideus Lam. from I Made Budi. Doubling time sampling done at 0, 24, 48, 72 hours. The result from cytotoxicity test showed that LC50 yellow fruits P. conoideus Lam was 0,25 µl/ml. Doubling time test showed that yellow fruits P. conoideus Lam. in 0,125 µl/ml can inhibit cancer grow with doubling time 1,9 times compared with the control. The result cloclused that yellow fruit P. conoideus Lam. potent as anticancer agent on breast cancer cell line T47D.
