This
report is made as evidence of the implementation of internship activities at PT
Pratama Transsoftware Inti Bahasa (Translation Transfer) online on January 29 -
March 28, 2024. Translation Transfer is one of the most competitively developed
language service agencies. In the course of its career, Translation Transfer
has successfully handled a wide variety of projects with a total of about two
hundred projects and counting. This is one of the benchmarks of Translation
Transfer's credibility as well as the reason for my interest in doing an
internship at the company. During the internship, I performed several
activities such as collecting target client data, creating articles that
contain advertising or promotional elements for marketing needs, and
translating several texts. The main activity of this internship was translating
legal text of documents from the Financial Services Authority and an article
from Translation Transfer website. During the process of translating both
texts, I encountered several cases, such as cases related to terms and abbreviations.
My strategy in solving these cases was to use several techniques proposed by
Molina and Albir. I used established equivalent and linguistic amplification techniques
as solutions to solve cases related to terms. Meanwhile, I used the calque
technique as a solution to solve cases related to abbreviation. In addition, I
also used references such as several online dictionaries as an effort to
overcome translation problems. For me, this internship program provided a lot
of new knowledge and experience. I was able to learn a field directly from the
experts. Participating in this internship program is something to be grateful
for because I can train and prepare myself to work in the industry.
