ABSTRACT
Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & Perry is plantation which has the function
of anti-cancer. This research objection is to figure out the changes structure of
hepar and uterus, and comparison index of mitotic of hepar cell and uterus cell.
This research uses cluster random sampling with six group of treatment,
each group gets five times repetition. The treatments given as follows : first group
is control and uses 3 ml aquades; second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth group is
uses 3 ml from 0.025%, 0.050%, 0.075%, 0.100%, 0.125% of sarang semut
extract. The rats are fed with Br II and tap water ad libitum. The experiment is
given per oral on 7 – 17 gestation days (organogenesis phase). The zero day of
pregnancy will be known if both of them are mating, and female rats show vaginal
plug. The quantitive data of is analysed by one way anova and different test with
DMRT.
The result shows that the extract giving for the structure damage of hepar
cell, so it influences mitotic index. The highest hepar cell damage happens to the
group of 0,125 % dose that is 36,53% reversible characteristic and 14,62%
irreversible characteristic. While the lowest to the group of 0,050 % dose that is
6,64% reversible characteristic and 6,25% irreversible characteristic. The highest
index of mitotic of hepar cell happens to the group of 0,050% dose that is 93,69%,
while the lowest to the group 0,125% dose that is 7,33%. Index mitotic of the
highest uterus cell happens to the 0,125 % dose group that is 9,19 %. While the
lowest to the group 0,025 % dose that is 7,33 %. The cell damage caused by the
extract is not truly different so it can be categorated safe to consumsed by
pregnant R. norvegicus.
