The Arcane of Masked Misfit is a novel that addresses issues of bullying, trauma, revenge, dysfunctional family, and injustices of the law. Inspired by the experiences of people around me and issues circulating on social media, this novel centers on Raynelle Kiana Auriga, a 17- year-old girl who is traumatized after witnessing the death of her mother. Despite her good achievements, Kiana who chooses to hide her identity as the heiress of their school foundation, become a quiet person and not have many friends. This left her struggling to deal with bullying. On the other hand, Kiana, who is still traumatized and unable to reconcile with the incident, secretly disguises herself with a new identity. She tries to get revenge with the help of Kairav, her classmate, especially after learning that the person who killed her mother is still related to Lauren, the girl who bullied her. In addition, the reality of Lauren’s life with authoritarian parents and Kairav’s disharmonious family is also shown in the novel to portray the theme of dysfunctional family. The revelation of the family secret and the correlation between the families of the three of them bring them to the complexity of hatred and revenge. This novel serves to highlight human behavior, whether it good or bad, it will lead to linear consequences.
