PERANGKAT FOTOSINTETIK TANAMAN KIMPUL (Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott.) PADA VARIASI NAUNGAN DAN KETERSEDIAAN

ABSTRACT This research aims to find out the photosynthetic apparatus of tannia consisted of total chlorophyll level, carotenoid, stomata index, palisade ratio plant leaves’ thickness at shade and water availability variation. The research done in randomized complete block design with two factor and three replication. The first factor is shade variation in three level and the second factor is water availability variation. The shade variation used : N0 = 0% shade, N1 = 55% shade, N3 = 75% shade meanwhile water availability variation used : A1 = 40% field capacity (KL), A2 = 60% KL, A3 = 80% KL, A4 = 100%. The procedure of research included: tuber planting, the treatment of shade and water availability variation, the measurement of photosynthetic apparatus. The data analysis employing was Anova and Kruskal Wallis test followed by the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at 5% confident level. The result of research shows that there is a significant difference of total chlorophyll content, while carotenoid level isn’t significant difference at shade and water availability variation. The highest total chlorophyll content is 77,09 mg/l at 55% shade and 40% KL. The highest carotenoid is 0,655 µmol at 0% shade and 40% KL.There isn’t significant difference of stomata index and palisade ratio. The highest stomata index is 10,67 at 0% shade and 100% KL. The highest palisade ratio is 64,82% at 0% shade and 80% KL. Leaves thickness shows that isn’t significant difference at shade and water availability variation. The highest leaves thickness is 36,67 µm at 0% shade and 100% KL. Keywords: Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott., shade, water, photosynthetic apparatus.
