EFEK TERATOGENIK EKSTRAK AIR SARANG SEMUT ( Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & Perry) PADA TIKUS PUTIH (Rattus norvegicus L.) GALUR WISTAR FASE ORGANOGENESIS

ABSTRACT Sarang semut (Myrmecodia pendens Merr. & Perry) is herbal medice that can be used as anti cancer because there are flavonoid compound. Anti cancer drugs have the character of teratogen surely. The aims of this research is to know the teratogenic influence of application on different doses sarang semut water extract toward intrauterine death, percentage of life foetus, body weight rats foetus, crown-rump length, and skeleton structure. This research uses thirty virgin female wistar rats weighing average 200 g and ten male matured rats. Female rats are divided randomly into six groups of five rats each. Each group is kept in a separate plastic cage and used different doses. First group is control and uses 3 ml aquades; second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth group is uses 3 ml from 0.025%, 0.050%, 0.075%, 0.100%, 0.125% water extract of sarang semut. The rats are fed with Br II and tap water ad libitum. The experiment is given per oral on 7 – 17 gestation days (during organogenesis). The zero day of gestation will be known if both of them are mating, and female rats show vaginal plug. The result of research is analysed by one way anova. The result of research shows that application of sarang semut water extract is not significantly different for intrauterine death, percentage of life foetus, crown-rump length, and body weight rats foetus (P>0,05), but in structure of skeleteon happens lordosis skeleton to 0.025% doses with percentage 11.11% and osifikasi retardation to 0.025% and 0.125% doses with each percentage 11.11% and 5.88%. Demaged of cell is reversible. It can be categorated safe to consumsed by pregnant R. norvegicus galur wistar. Keywords: Sarang semut extract, teratogenic influence, wistar rats.
