PERUBAHAN INDEKS MITOSIS DAN ABERASI KROMOSOM PADA BAWANG DAUN (Allium fistulosum L.) AKIBAT PEMAPARAN HERBISIDA 2,4 D DAN PARAQUAT

ABSTRACT
Welsh onion is one of the most popular vegetable in Indonesian. The
productivity can turn because of weeds, so herbicide used to disturb it. Herbicides
uses not only disturb the weeds, but crops too. The aim of this research was to
know change mitotic index and chromosome aberration on root tip of welsh onion
(Allium fistulosum L.).
This research designed using completely randomized block design,
factorial consist of 2 factors : kind of herbicides (2,4-D and paraquat) and
herbicides concentrations (0 µl/ml, 25 x10-3
µl/ml, 50 x10-3
µl/ml, 75 x10-3
µl/ml
and 100x10-3
µl/ml) with 3 replications. Roots have been growing , was washed,
and than it stands on herbicides each of concentrations for 3 hours. After that it’s
made root preparation with squash method. Mitotic index and chromosome
aberration were calculated at mitotic phase. The data analyzed by statistical
analysis used ANOVA test (Analysis of Variances) continued by Tukey test and
Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) of significance 5%.
Higher concentration can be made fewer mitotic index and higher
chromosome aberration. Paraquat herbicide give higher effect than 2,4-D
herbicide effect. Fewest mitotic index (24,32%) and higher procentatiaon of
chromosome aberration (7,30%) was looked by treatment at 100 x10-3 µl/ml
concentration.
