FABRIKASI DAN UJI SIFAT MEKANIK SERAT OPTIK POLIMER YANG DIBUAT DENGAN VARIASI SUHU

Has been conducted research of fabrication tool making, fabrication and mechanical characteristic test polymer fiber optic. At this research produced a set tool of polymer fiber optic fabrication by design refer to crucible double method. Parts of from this tool for example furnace (heater) to melt materials of polymer fiber optic compiler, rotor as fiber winder that produced from fabrication process, crucible as container of printer core and cladding sfrom polymer optical fiber and tower as place hook, correlate crucible. In course of fabrication, materials polypropylene (PP) as the compiler core is placed at crucible and melted use furnace, after melt then pulled and furled by using rotor. At this fabrication process conducted temperature variation as high as 170°C, 180°C, 190°C, 200°C, 210°C, 220°C, 230°C, 240°C, 250°C, 260°C, 270°C and 280°C. Time depth of fabrication preparation and fabrication process is 15 minute. Temperature variation influences diameter core produced , that is ever greater temperature then diameter core that formed also ever greater. After core are formed, conducted veneering process uses compiler materials cladding, that is polymer glue gun. Of both this process produces polymer optical fiber that have one core with small diameter. Mechanical characteristic test fiber optic of fabrication result polymer are tested use tool of elasticity test. Keyword: crucible double method, crucible, core, cladding, polymer fiber optic.
