ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Korelasi antara Vocabulary Mastery dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, (2) Korelasi antara Grammar Mastery dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010 (3) Korelasi antara motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010 dan (4) Korelasi antara Vocabulary Mastery, Grammar Mastery dan motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelatif. Populasi adalah seluruh kelas X SMA N 2 Ngawi tahun pelajaran 2009/2010, sejumlah 10 kelas. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling sejumlah 1 kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data vocabulary mastery, grammar mastery dan prestasi belajar kognitif digunakan metode tes, sedangkan motivasi berprestasi diukur dengan metode angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik analisis korelasi dan regresi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) terdapat korelasi antara Vocabulary Mastery dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, dengan indeks korelasi 0,371, bentuk korelasi positif, semakin tinggi vocabulary mastery maka prestasi belajar kimia cenderung semakin tinggi, (2) tidak terdapat korelasi antara Grammar Mastery dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, (3) terdapat korelasi antara motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, dengan indeks korelasi 0,394, bentuk korelasi positif, semakin tinggi motivasi berprestasi, maka prestasi belajar kimia cenderung semakin tinggi, dan (4) tidak terdapat korelasi antara Vocabulary Mastery, Grammar Mastery dan motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi belajar kimia siswa kelas X RSBI SMA Negeri 2 Ngawi materi pokok Ikatan Kimia Tahun Ajaran 2009/2010, karena yang berkorelasi dengan prestasi belajar kimia adalah vocabulary mastery dan motivasi berprestasi, sedangkan grammar mastery tidak berkorelasi. Sumbangan vocabulary mastery dan motivasi berprestasi terhadap prestasi belajar kimia, berdasarkan pembahasan yang telah disampaikan adalah: (a) sumbangan relatif vocabulary mastery = 45,83%, (b) sumbangan relatif motivasi berprestasi = 54,17%, (c) sumbangan efektif vocabulary mastery = 10,69%, dan (d) sumbangan efektif motivasi berprestasi = 12,63%.   ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to find out: (1) The correlation between vocabulary mastery with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA N 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of the chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010, (2) The correlation between grammar mastery with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010, (3) The correlation between achievement motivation with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010 and (4) The correlation between vocabulary mastery, grammmar mastery, and achievement motivation with the learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010. This research used the correlative descriptive method, with the technique of collecting data were the test and the questionaire. The population were all of the first grade students of SMA 2 Ngawi in academic year in 2009/2010, at the amount to 10 classes. The sample was taken with the technique of cluster random sampling at the amount to one class. The technique of collecting data of vocabulary mastery, grammar mastery, and the learning achievement of chemistry were the test method, while the achievement motivation was measured by the questionaire method. The technique of data analysis which was used were the correlation and regresion analysis statistic. The result of this research were: (1) There was a correlation between vocabulary mastery with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010 with the corrrelation index was 0,371, positive correlation type, the more increase the vocabulary mastery, the learning achievement of chemistry has increasing tendency, (2) There was no correlation between grammar mastery with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010, (3) There was a correlation between achievement motivation with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010 with the correlation index was 0,394, positive correlation type, the more increase the achievement motivation, the learning achievement of chemistry has increasing tendency and (4) There was no correlation between vocabulary mastery, grammar mastery and achievement motivation with learning achievement of chemistry of the first grade students of RSBI of SMA 2 Ngawi in the main subject material of chemical bonds in academic year 2009/2010, because the has correlation are vocabulary mastery and achievement motivation, while don’t grammar mastery. The quantity of the contributions of vocabulary mastery and achievement motivation to learning achievement of chemistry which were obtained from discussion were: (a) the relative contribution of vocabulary mastery was 45,83%, (b) the relative contribution of achievement motivation was 54,71%, (c) the effective contribution of vocabulary mastery was 10,69% and (d) the effective contribution of achievement motivation was 12,63%.
