This study investigates the symbolic capital manipulation of Oliver Quick to achieve upward class mobility. This study aims to analyze the manipulative strategies based on the capital manipulation and conversion to reveal the upward class mobility aspect. This research applies descriptive qualitative research with textual analysis. In achieving the objectives, this research uses Ehrat Semiotic theory as a method to find and analyze the data. The data found were analyzed through the stages of firstness, secondness, and thirdness contain the social practice and symbolic violence aspects. The results show that symbolic violence is the main cause of the manipulative upward class mobility done by Oliver. Furthermore “Saltburn” film normalizes the manipulative upward class mobility by constructing Oliver as the main character of the narrative.
