Hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dan interaksi teman sebaya dengan penyesuaian sosial pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo

ABSTRACT The most difficulties of adolescence developmental tasks are related with social adjustment, to reach the aim of adult socialization patterns. Adolescence has to do new adjustment. Communication process is the main requirement in every interaction. Interaction in the communication would be more effective if everyone involved can be more active to express and respond to others opinions spontaneously. In the process of social adjustment, adolescence will get much pressure from peers (peer pressure). Unconsciously they will appear and behave like the other teenagers, it will happens because they are afraid if their environment doesn’t accepted and excluded from the association. This research aim to know relation between interpersonal communication and peer group interaction with social adjustment at adolessences. This research subject is student of class IX-E SMP N 1 Sukoharjo. Cluster random sampling was use in this reseach. Data collection tool applied is interpersonal communication scale, peer group interaction scale and social adjustment scale. Existing statement in scale have to be filled by subject as according to each situation. Analysis at this research use technique regression analysis. The result of research shows that there is the corellation between interpersonal communication and peer group interaction with social adjustment at adolescent of SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo with the values of Ry(1,2) of 0.715, Fhitung=46,497 > Ftabel = 3,252 with p-value 0.000 < 0.05. The value of effective contribution (SE) from the two independent variables simultaneously is 71,5%. From the research, it can also be found that there is a positive significant corellation between interpersonal communication with social adjustment at adolescent of SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo, the correlation coefficient rx1y is 0,702, with p-value 0.000 < 0.05, as well as there is a positive significant corellation between peer group interaction and social adjustment at adolescent of SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo and the correlation coefficient rx2y is 0,828, with p-value 0.000 < 0.05. ABSTRAK Tugas perkembangan remaja yang tersulit yaitu berhubungan dengan penyesuaian sosial, untuk mencapai tujuan pola sosialisasi orang dewasa, remaja harus melakukan penyesuaian baru. Proses komunikasi merupakan syarat utama dalam setiap interaksi. Interaksi dalam komunikasi akan lebih efektif apabila setiap orang yang terlibat dapat berperan aktif, dapat mengutarakan pikirannya, dan menanggapi pendapat orang lain secara spontan. Dalam proses penyesuaian sosial, remaja banyak mendapat tekanan dari teman sebaya (peer pressure). Tanpa sadar mereka akan berpenampilan dan berperilaku seperti remaja lain, hal ini terjadi karena mereka takut tidak diterima dan disisihkan dari pergaulan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dan interaksi teman sebaya dengan penyesuaian sosial pada remaja. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX-E SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo yang berjumlah 40 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cluster random sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah skala komunikasi interpersonal, skala interaksi teman sebaya, dan skala penyesuaian sosial. Pernyataan yang ada dalam skala harus diisi oleh subjek sesuai dengan keadaan masing-masing subjek. Analisis data yang digunakan dengan teknik regresi dua prediktor. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal dan interaksi teman sebaya dengan penyesuaian sosial pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo dengan nilai R Square sebesar 0,715, Fhitung = 46,497 > dari Ftabel = 3,252 dengan p-value 0,000<0,05. Besarnya sumbangan efektif (SE) kedua variabel bebas secara bersama-sama sebesar 71,5%. Dari penelitian ini juga diketahui terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara komunikasi interpersonal dengan penyesuaian sosial pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo, koefisien korelasi rx1y adalah sebesar 0,702, dengan p-value 0,000<0,05, serta terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara interaksi teman sebaya dengan penyesuaian sosial pada remaja di SMP Negeri 1 Sukoharjo, koefisien korelasi rx2y adalah sebesar 0,828, dengan p-value 0,000<0,05.
