ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the CTL
approach with experiment modified by discussions using computers as the media
to improve student achievement in Reaction Rate material grade XI IA of SMA
Negeri 1 Wuryantoro in the academic year 2009/2010.
The research uses ”Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design”
experiment method. The sample of the population in this reseach is the students of
class XI of SMA N 1 Wuryantoro, Wonogiri. The sample is taken using cluster
random sampling technique; from three classes the writer takes two classes that
are class XI IA3 as exsperimental class and XI IA2 as control class. Tecnique of
analysis data use t-test right side.
The conclusion of this research is that CTL approach with laboratory
activity modified with discussion by media of computer give influence to increase
the student achievement inthe main material of reaction rate in XI IA class of
SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantoro in the academic year 2009/2010. This can be seen by
thitung = 3,335 > ttabel = 1,67 for cognitive value with difference of the experimental
class` average is 42,375 and control class` average is 33,613. Affective value
gives thitung = 1,973 > ttabel =1,67 with difference of the experimental class`
average is 12,125 and control class` average is 10,645. Meanwhile, for
psychomotor value`average of experimental class is 27,5313 and control class is
25,9032.
