RINGKASAN
Usaha peternakan domba dihadapkan dengan mahalnya biaya pengadaan
konsent rat . Bahan pakan alternat if dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian yaitu
dedak padi. Pengolahan pakan untuk mengopt imalkan dedak padi salah satunya
dengan pengukusan dan untuk meningkatkan kandungan nutrient ransum maka
disuplementasikan MHA. Pengukusan dedak padi dan suplementasi MHA dalam
ransum diharapkan dapat saling melengkapi kandungan nutriennya dan dapat
menggant ikan konsent rat sebagai bahan pakan sumber energi. Pengukusan dan
suplementasi MHA diharapkan meningkatkan keuntungan dalam pemeliharaan
ternak karena dapat menekan biaya pengadaan konsentrat sebagai pakan penguat.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengukusan dedak
padi dan suplementasi MHA dalam ransum terhadap performan domba lokal
jantan. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 12 minggu mulai tanggal 11 Agustus – 2
November 2009, di mini farm Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas
Sebelas Maret Surakarta berlokasi di Desa Jat ikuwung, Kecamatan Gondangrejo,
Kabupaten Karanganyar. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan
Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola searah. Materi yang digunakan adalah
domba lokal jantan sebanyak 12 ekor dengan bobot badan rata-rata 10,32 ± 1,02
kg dibagi dalam t iga macam perlakuan dan empat ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri
dari satu ekor domba.
Ransum yang diberikan berupa hijauan rumput raja, dedak padi, dedak
padi kukus, dan dedak padi kukus ditambah MHA. Perlakuan yang diberikan
masing-masing adalah P0 (rumput Raja 60% + dedak padi 40%), P1 (rumput Raja 60% + dedak padi kukus 40%), P2 (rumput Raja 60% + dedak padi kukus
40% + MHA 1%). Parameter yang diamat i meliputi konsumsi pakan, konsumsi
protein, pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH), konversi pakan, efisiensi
protein ransum dan feed cost per gain.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata dari ketiga macam perlakuan
yaitu P0, P1, dan P2 berturut-turut untuk konsumsi pakan 999,46, 936,84, dan
935,58 gram/ekor/hari, konsumsi protein 171,57; 160,76; dan 160,55
gram/ekor/hari, pertambahan bobot badan harian 51,530; 58,163; dan 62,625
gram/ekor/hari, konversi pakan 20,288, 16,934, dan 16,623, efisiensi protein
ransum 0,299; 0,365; dan 0,391, dan feed cost per gain Rp. 21428,78/kg; Rp.
18013,51/kg; dan Rp. 18068,88/kg.
.Hasil analisis variansi untuk konsumsi, konsumsi protein, konversi
pakan dan efisiensi protein ransum dan analisis kovariansi untuk pertambahan
bobot badan harian dari ket iga macam perlakuan masing-masing adalah berbeda
t idak nyata (P>0,05).
Pengukusan dedak padi dan suplementasi MHA t idak meningkatkan
performan domba lokal jantan (konsumsi pakan, konsumsi protein, pertambahan
berat harian, konversi pakan, efisiensi protein ransum). Feed cost per gain yang
paling murah pada perlakuan ransum yang dikukus.

SUMMARY
Farm businesses sheep are faced with the high cost of procurement of
concent rates. Alternat ive feed material by ut ilizing agricultural waste is rice bran.
proseccing feed rice bran to opt imize one with steaming and to increase the
nutrient content of the rations supplemented with MHA. Steaming rice bran and
MHA supplementation in the rat ion is expected to complement each other and
nutrient content can replace the feed concentrate as an energy source material.
Steaming and MHA supplementation is expected to increase profits in raising
cat t le because it can reduce the cost of procurement of feed concent rate as
reinforcement .
This study aims to find out effect steaming rice bran and suplementat ion
MHA in rat ions for male performance of local male sheep. The study was
conducted over 12 weeks start ing on 11 August to 2 November 2009, in
Department of Animal Science of Agriculture Faculty of Sebelas Maret
University located in Jatikuwung, Gondangrejo, Karanganyar. Research carried
out experimentally using the Completly Random Design (CRD) one way
classification. The material used is a local male sheep as many as 12 males
weighing an average of 10.32 ± 1.02 kg were divided into three kinds of
treatments and four replications, every replication use one local male sheep.
Rat ions are given in the form of king grass, rice bran, rice bran steamed,
rice bran steamed and plus MHA. The treatment given each of them is P0 (60%
king grass + 40% rice bran), P1 (60% king grass + rice bran steamed 40%, P2
(60% king grass + rice bran steamed 40% + 1% MHA, . The parameters observed included feed consumpt ion, protein consumpt ion, Average Daily Gain (ADG),
feed conversion, protein efficiency rat io and feed cost per gain.
The results showed that the average of the three kinds of treatment that
is P0, P1, and P2, respect ively for the consumpt ion of 999.46, 936.84, and 935.58
grams / head / day, consumpt ion of protein, 171.57; 160.76; and 160.55 grams /
head / day, average daily gain 51.530; 58.163 and 62.625 grams / head / day, feed
conversion 20.288, 16.934, and 16.623, protein efficiency ration 0.299; 0.365 and
0.391, and feed cost per gain Rp. 21428,78/kg; Rp. 18013,51/kg; dan Rp.
18068,88/kg.
The results of analysis of variance for consumpt ion, protein
consumpt ion, feed conversion and protein efficiency rat ion and analysis
covariance to average daily gain of the three types of treatment, respect ively, are
different is not significant (P> 0,05).
Steamed rice bran and MHA supplementation did not improve on
performance local male sheep (feed consumpt ion, protein consumpt ion, average
daily gain , feed conversion, protein efficiency rat ion). Feed cost per gain the
most efficient in the t reatment rat ion steamed.
