Kajian pengaruh konsumsi air bersih PDAM terhadap kesehatan masyarakat di Kecamatan Jebres Kota Surakarta

ABSTRAK Air adalah elemen yang sangat penting untuk menunjang kehidupan manusia. PDAM merupakan perusahaan yang bertugas menyediakan air bersih untuk kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah air bersih yang didistribusikan oleh PDAM sudah memenuhi standar kualitas air bersih dan juga untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat kesehatan masyarakat dengan karakteristik penduduk yang mengkonsumsi air PDAM. Penelitian dilakukan di wilayah Kecamatan Jebres Kota Surakarta pada bulan Juli dan Agustus 2009. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara dengan pelanggan air PDAM dan mengambil sampel air PDAM yang biasa di konsumsi. Standar yang di gunakan untuk menilai kualitas air PDAM adalah Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No.416/MENKES/Per/1990 dengan uji fisika dan kimia di Laboratorium Teknik Penyehatan UNS. Metode analisis data yang digunakan ialah metode analisis statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 15.0 berbasis Windows. Hasil uji di Laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa air PDAM yang di konsumsi oleh masyarakat di Kecamatan Jebres Kota Surakarta sudah memenuhi standar kualitas air bersih. Sedangkan tingkat kesehatan masyarakat Kecamatan Jebres Kota Surakarta yang mengkonsumsi air PDAM cukup baik karena dipengaruhi oleh pendidikan masyarakat serta kondisi lingkungan yang baik. Kata kunci : Pengaruh, Air bersih, Masyarakat. ABSTRACT Water is the very important element for supporting the human’s life. PDAM is a company in charge of providing fresh water for the public’s life. This research aims to find out whether or not the fresh water the PDAM distributes has fulfilled the standard clean water and also to find out the relation between the public health level and the characteristics of population consuming the PDAM water. This research was taken place in Sub district Jebres area of Surakarta city during July – August 2009 period. The data collection was done by interviewing the PDAM’s water customers and by taking the sample of PDAM water usually consumed. The standard used for assessing the quality of PDAM water was the Indonesian Republic Health Minister’s Regulation No. 416/MENKES/Per/1990 with physical and chemical tests in Purification Technique Laboratory of UNS. Method of collecting data used was a descriptive statistical analysis method with Window based SPPS version 15.0. The result of test in the laboratory shows that PDAM water consumed by the people in Sub district Jebres of Surakarta City has fulfilled the standard quality of clean water. Meanwhile the health level of people consuming PDAM water in Sub district Jebres of Surakarta City belongs to sufficiently good category because it is affected by the people’s education as well as good environmental condition.
