ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan model pembelajaran tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) siswa kelas V SD Negeri Beji Kecamatan Andong Kabupaten Boyolali, (2) mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman, (3) mengatasi hambatan yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC).
Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali Tahun Ajaran 2009/ 2010 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Validitas data yang digunakan adalah validitas isi, triangulasi data, dan triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis diskriptif interaktif.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai rata-rata hasil evaluasi membaca pemahaman siswa sebelum tindakan yaitu 54,00 dan ketuntasan klasikal 53,33%. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata yaitu 64,27 dan ketuntasan klasikal 66,67%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata yaitu 77,76 dan ketuntasan klasikal 80%, sedangkan pada siklus III nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh 83,2 dan ketuntasan klasikal 90%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia melalui model pembelajaran tipe Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali tahun ajaran 2009/ 2010. Hambatan selama penerapan CIRC yaitu: (1) sifat individual siswa masih terlihat dalam kelompok, (2) siswa kurang memperhatikan ketika dibacakan teks cerita dan (3) teks yang panjang dan perbendaharaan kata yang sedikit membuat siswa kesulitan memahami bacaan. Solusi yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut yaitu: (1) menjelaskan kepada siswa maksud dan tujuan kerja kelompok (2) pembacaan teks cerita dilakukan secara bergiliran, dan (3) mengganti teks yang lebih pendek dan menjelaskan kepada siswa kata-kata yang dianggap sukar.
ABSTRACT
The purposes of this research are: (1) to improving ability of reading comprehension by using Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) type of learning model in students 5th grade of SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali of 2009/2010 Academic Year; (2) to describe of applying Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) learning model in studying reading comprehension, (3) to know obstacles and solutions during application of Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) method in students 5th grade of SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali of 2009/2010 academic year.
The type of this research is classroom action research. Subject of this research is all 5th grade students (30 individuals) of SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali of 2009/2010 Academic Years. Data is collected by using interview, observation, test and documentation techniques. Data validity is examined by using content validity, method triangulation, and data triangulation. The data are analyzed by descriptive interactive analysis.
Based on results of the research, it was obtained that average grade of evaluation results of student’s reading comprehension before action was 54,00 and classical completeness was 53,33%. In cycle I average grade was 64,27 and classical completeness was 66,67. In cycle II average grade was 77,76 and classical completeness was 80% and in cycle III average grade was 83,2 and clasical completences was 90%. Therefore, it can be concluded that learning of reading comprehensioN by using Cooperative Integrated Reading Composition (CIRC) method can improve ability of comprehensive reading of 5th grade students of SD Negeri Beji Andong Boyolali of 2009/2010 academic year. Obstacles that were facing during CIRC application were: ( 1) nature of individually students still seen in group, ( 2) students less paying attention when read off by a story text and, (3) long text and little word exchequer making difficulty student comprehend the reading. Solution the resistance were : (1) explaining to students of purposes and objectives team-work ( 2) read of story text by rotation, and ( 3) changing shorter text and explain to words student assumed difficult.
