Implementasi program percepatan kelas (akselerasi) di SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta tahun ajaran 2008/2009

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) penyelenggaraan kelas akselerasi di SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta. (2) Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam penyelenggaraan program akselerasi. (3) Upaya-upaya yang telah dilakukan SMA Negeri 3 dalam mengatasi kendala-kendala dalam penyelenggaraan kelas akselerasi. Penelitian berbentuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan strategi tunggal terpancang, dalam artian penelitian terarah pada sasaran dengan satu karakteristik. Sumber data penelitian meliputi: informan, tempat dan peristiwa serta arsip dan dokumen. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, yaitu untuk memilih informan yang dianggap mengetahui informasi dari masalahnya secara mendalam dan dapat dipercaya menjadi sumber yang mantap dan di dukung juga dengan snowball sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi dan analisis dokumen. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui trianggulasi sumber dan trianggulasi metode dengan menggunakan analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Penyelenggaraan program akselerasi meliputi: (a) persiapan penyelenggraan akselerasi, meliputi seleksi siswa, perekrutan guru, persiapan kurikulum, persiapan sarana prasarana, sosialisasi. (b) proses penyelenggaraan akselerasi. (c) evaluasi penyelenggaraan program akselerasi. Evaluasi dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui apa saja yang masih perlu di perbaiki. Hal-hal yang perlu di evaluasi antara lain sasaran pembelajaran, input atau siswa, kurikulum, sarana prasarana, tenaga kependidikan, biaya, evaluasi. (2) Kendala-kendala dalam pelaksanaan program akselerasi meliputi beban belajar yang berat bagi siswa, keterbatasan biaya. (3) Upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kendala yaitu dengan memberikan metode pembelajaran yang lebih bervariasi, fasilitas yang lebih bagus dibanding dengan kelas regular, bekerjasama dengan lembaga psikologi An Naffa. Mengajukan block grant-block grant ke pemerintah, mengadakan subsidi silang. ABSTRACT This research was aimed for knowing: (1) The implementation of acceleration program at SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta. (2) The obstructions which were faced in the implementation of acceleration program. (3) The efforts which were done by SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta to overcome the obstructions in the implementation of acceleration program. The research was in form of descriptive qualitative by using embedded single strategy, in which the research was directed toward the target within one characteristic. The research data resources were including: informant, place and event, and archive and document. Sampling technique which was used is purposive sampling, which purpose is to choose the informant which was sentenced knew the information of the case deeply and could be trusted to become a stable source and also supported with snow ball sampling. Data collecting techniques were interview, observation, and document analysis. Data justification was gotten toward resource triangulation and method triangulation by using interactive analysis. The result of the research showed: (1) Implementation of the acceleration program was included: (a) The preparation of the acceleration implementation, included students selection, teachers recruitment, curriculum preparation, instrument preparation, socialization, (b) The acceleration implementation process, (c) The evaluation of the acceleration implementation program. Evaluation was done to know every single cases which was needed to be repaired. The cases which were needed to be evaluated were teaching equipment, input or students, curriculum, instruments, education workers, cost, evaluation. (2) Obstructions in the acceleration program implementation were included heavy learning burden for students, limitation of the cost. (3) The efforts which were done to overcome the obstructions were by giving varied teaching methods, better facilities than the regular class had, had relationship with psychology institution of An Naffa.
