Hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan media pembelajaran dengan prestasi belajar sosiologi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2009/2010

This research aims to find out: (1) the relationship of learning motivation to the students’ sociology learning achievement, (2) the relationship of learning media and learning motivation to the students’ sociology learning achievement. This study was taken place in the XI IPS class of SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari. The method employed in this research was a descriptive quantitative one. The research population was all XI IPS graders of SMA Negeri 1 Tawangsari in the school year of 2009/2010, consisting of 144 students. The sampling technique used was the cluster sampling obtaining 100 students. Technique of collecting data used was the questionnaire one. Technique of analyzing data employed was statistical analysis with a multiple regression technique. Considering the result of research, it can be concluded that: (1) hypothesis 1 that “There is a sufficiently significant relationship of learning motivation to the students’ sociology learning achievement of XI IPS graders of SMA Negeri Tawangsari in the school year of 2009/2010” is supported. It can be seen from the result of data analysis showing rx1y = 0.144 and  = 0.150. (2) hypothesis 2 “There is a very significant relationship of learning media to the students’ sociology learning achievement of XI IPS graders of SMA Negeri Tawangsari in the school year of 2009/2010” is supported. It can be seen from the result of data analysis showing rx2y = 0.290 and  = 0.004. (3) hypothesis 3 that “There is a very significant relationship of learning motivation and learning media to the students’ sociology learning achievement of XI IPS graders of SMA Negeri Tawangsari in the school year of 2009/2010” is supported. It can be seen from the result of data analysis showing Ry(x12) = 0.309 and  = 0.008.
