Strategi Dinas Pendidikan, Pemuda dan Olahraga kota Surakarta dalam proses pengadaan kepala sekolah

Abstrak: The Paradigm change of the education management from the centralized one with the policy of School Based Management or (MBS), to forced the headmaster not just to become a finance and administrative manager but it also forced them to be a leader who able to create a vision and inspirate their staff and all of the people who linked with the school management. Therefore, there was a procurement of the headmaster to get a qualified candidates. The aim of the research is ti find out, how’s the strategics of the Department eduacation, youth, and sport at the city of Surakarta in procurement of the headmaster to get the qualified candidates to be the next headmaster. The methods used in this research were descriptive qualitative, then the observation, interview, and documentation methods were used to collect the data, also the purposive sampling were used to decide the sample. The last, but not least, interactive analize method and trianggulation data method is used to analize the data and to the test the validation of the data. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that The strategics used by the Department of education, youth and sport at the city of Surakarta were held in 3 (three) ways, there are : recruitment, selection, and placement. In carrying out the procurement of the headmaster still need more improvement, both in improving administrative standards and provide education and training for prospective principals, so as to create the candidates are qualified and competent.
